I find Apple's behaviour rather frustrating when it comes to cutting media (does not always happen wit cutting) or inserting markers, for instance. Occasionally, if my mouse hovers over a specific spot in the main timeline without a clip being selected, performing a blade cut works properly on the main timeline. However, it frequently cuts on a clip above, an effect, or sometimes one below instead. The same issue occurs when setting markers. It would only be logical if there were no need to...
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to be able to prioritise a selected clip when clicking, but otherwise cut or insert markers on the clip directly under the mouse, without affecting those above or below.
