Description
During discussion of moving from Jitsi calls to Zoom calls, we received feedback that some of valuable community members are unable to use Zoom due to various restrictions.
Also we have objections of video format of Zoom calls, which makes it difficult for some people to participate.
To ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all community members, i am proposing following solution:
- We set up streaming of Zoom calls to YouTube Live.
- This way, anyone who cannot use Zoom can still watch the calls live on YouTube.
- Additionally, we can record the calls and upload them to YouTube for later viewing.
- We set as primary conversation channel our Discord server, where everyone can participate via text chat too, and anybody who is leading a call should monitor the chat for questions and comments, and translate them to the Zoom call as needed.
This approach allows us to leverage the benefits of Zoom for those who can use it, while also providing an accessible alternative for those who cannot.
It also ensures that all community members can stay informed and engaged, regardless of their ability to use Zoom.
I believe this solution strikes a good balance between functionality and inclusivity, and I hope it meets the needs of our diverse community.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this proposal and any suggestions you might have to improve it further.
