👋 Hi, I’m @AERodgers. I am currently a post-doc research fellow at Trinity College Dublin working on the LIFELANGS project, focusing on the Language Riches stream of the project. This aims to evidence the rich linguistic and cultural diversities of communities on the shared island of Ireland.
-
👀 I’m particularly interested in Phonetics and speech -- especially acoustic phonetics, speech prosody, intonation, dialects of English in Ireland, and teaching methodologies (for phonetics, ESOL, and academic skills)
-
🌱 I’m currently learning more speech and language corpora (back to Python, using ELAN, etc.).
-
💞️ I’m also interested in collaborating on projects to develop:
- An interactive searchable interface for a multilingual corpus of spoken & signed languages and visual artefacts.
- Accessible speech analysis and data representation plug-ins for Praat.
- Strategies for learning and teaching intonation in a second or other language.
- Resources for ear-training, IPA transcription practice, etc (especially for future SLTs).
-
📫 How to reach me: via Github, email, or even snailmail if you're feeling old skool!
